A 6-year-old Muslim boy was killed in Chicago last weekend.
Attorney General Merrick Garland opened a hate crime investigation into the murder of a 6-year-old Muslim boy on Sunday, who was stabbed repeatedly by his family’s landlord.
The 71-year-old landlord first attacked the boy’s mother when she opened the door at the residence they rented from him. She was stabbed several times before she escaped to call 911 in her bathroom. When she emerged, she found her son stabbed to death. The mother remains hospitalized, and the landlord has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, two counts of a hate crime, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
“I am heartbroken by the abhorrent killing of Wadea Al-Fayoume, a six-year-old child who died after being stabbed 26 times with a military-style knife,” Attorney Garland stated. “On behalf of the entire Justice Department, I want to express my deepest condolences to his family and his community as they grieve his loss.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For discernment for the attorney general as he heads the hate crime investigation.
- That Americans turn to the Lord and His love, and reflect His character.
- For comfort and healing for the family of the slain boy.
